Red Planet Bekasi

There wasn’t really a clean spot anywhere, and nowhere to hang clothes. The bed covers were dirty, and the toilet was awful. We never saw who had stayed before us, but their hair was stuck to the toilet. Breakfast was just in name, there was basically nothing served.

I was impressed by the bathroom: for a budget hotel, it was spacious, thoughtfully designed, and comfortable. I stayed two nights around July 2017 in a standard twin room. Everything in the room was maintained well and worked as it should. Red Planet’s hospitality surprised me too, the receptionist was very helpful and the rest of the staff were friendly. The hotel isn’t right on the road, which I think is a plus since Jalan Chairil Anwar Bekasi can get crowded. There’s lots of parking, and Blu Plaza just west of the hotel is another place you can park. At first I thought it would be like any other budget hotel, but it wasn’t.

When I came back a year later, the check-in took a long time. The bathroom wasn’t as clean as before, with hair in there and some on the bed cover, though the bed was still just as comfortable. On my earlier visit in 2017, I went with my partner. The hotel had a strict no-smoking rule throughout the property, even in your room, with a 300k charge if you were caught smoking anywhere on the grounds. That can be a hassle for most smokers. It’s a self-service kind of budget hotel, and there were free internet PCs all over the lobby. The lift smelled, and the shower heating didn’t work very well, but everything else worked fine. I’d only consider coming back if there were no other options, because of the no-smoking rule, lol.

I stayed one night on the third floor. The room was small but clean, and there’s a lift. It gets super hot, so you really need to turn the AC all the way up. The mall is within walking distance, and it’s easy to find everything you need nearby.
