Arumdalu Private Resort

There’s a lot of potential here, and the food was imaginative and mostly good, though comparatively expensive. If the place wants to present itself as high class, it needs to put in the effort to keep both the resort grounds and the surrounding area clean. The wedding venue, which they surely benefit from, was also very littered. That’s a real shame.

The beach is private, lovely, and refreshing, and the resort is quiet and far from everything. Food, atmosphere, and hospitality were all excellent. For lunch or dinner there’s a minimum charge of Rp 250.000/person. There are two stay packages, both with airport pickup. The cheaper option includes breakfast only, while the higher priced one comes with three meals a day. Rates may change accordingly.

I’d had this place on my list for over a year and finally made it there over New Year’s. The clear, sandy beach was so clean, unlike others we’ve found. We loved the food, and the room was great too. I’d thought kids might not enjoy it because reviews mostly mentioned couples and weddings, but it worked well for a family as well. Some people say it’s pricey, but for the setting and service, it felt worth it. Such a beautiful, clean, private place.

It’s a very secluded resort, about an hour from Tanjung Pandan. The beach behind the villas was spotless and empty when I visited, and the restaurant served great food. The room rate was quite expensive, but if privacy is what you’re after, it’s a great place.
