Sheraton Belitung Resort

I've been here three times in the past four years, which probably says it all. The staff are the real highlight, so kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. The hotel is pretty secluded, and that's what makes it so peaceful. Once you arrive, it's easy to disconnect from the outside world. Just the ocean, fresh air, and time to slow down, without noise or rush.

Breakfast had a pleasant setting and a good range of choices. I enjoyed it, though the taste and food quality could be better to match the resort's premium feel. The resort is quite new, beautifully designed, and well maintained. Our room was stylish and comfortable, and we appreciated the upgrade. The calm atmosphere was ideal for a quiet break from the city. The staff were consistently warm, responsive, attentive, and caring, which made the stay feel personal and special. A lovely stay overall, and I'd happily return to Sheraton Belitung.

I was very happy with my stay and would definitely come back. The private beach is a nice feature, though when I visited in December the water wasn't very clear and there was some litter. The interior and service were both top-notch, and the pool was a favorite. It has a flat depth and lots of coconut trees, which made the area feel relaxing. The staff were friendly and accommodating, especially the restaurant team. I ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner there, and the food was tasty every time.

The staff were upbeat, friendly, and helpful, and the buggy service over WhatsApp worked well. The rooms are spacious and the beds are excellent, but cleanliness was inconsistent enough that we had to change rooms. We stayed Dec 24-28 over Christmas. Belitung is a beautiful, very green island that still feels quiet and undeveloped, with a lot of unrealized potential. The nearby small islands have clear water and distinctive granite rock formations. This area could be spectacular in the dry season. The Sheraton, though, feels unfinished. Its internal roads are unpaved dirt and muddy during the rainy season, the wetlands landscaping is neglected, and the resort lacks the polish you’d expect of a five-star hotel. Food was the biggest weakness. With nowhere nearby to eat, guests rely on the hotel restaurants, but the quality disappointed us, especially at breakfast and with Indonesian dishes. The burgers were good and the pizza was acceptable. The seafood restaurant had a nice atmosphere, though we didn’t really try it. The destination has huge potential, but the hotel needs major improvements to its infrastructure, cleanliness, and especially its food to meet Sheraton standards.
