Surya Hotel Duri

The receptionist was friendly and kind, and the staff service was very good. It's easy to reach, with complete facilities including a pool, gym, and ballroom area with lovely views around it. The standard room was very clean, the AC was cold, and the furniture was new. Breakfast was delicious with a varied menu, and the bamboo restaurant was tasty too. Prices are affordable and competitive, suitable for business. I think an improvement could be to change from hotel Surya example room. The staff have been amazing, both at the front desk and in the restaurant. The onsite restaurant has a large menu, and the food has been good. My room is large, and although the bed is firm, it's comfortable for me. It's convenient for getting to work at the gas plant just north of the city. There isn't much around the hotel, though, since it's out on the edge of town.

We paid 800k for two days, and it really wasn't worth it. The room smelled bad, the phone didn't work, and I had to use WhatsApp on my own phone to contact hotel staff. The AC wasn't cold enough, and I saw cleaning staff smoking while they cleaned rooms. When we complained about the AC and other things, the receptionist seemed clueless. I definitely won't stay here again.

The ballroom setup needs attention. When classroom seating is requested, there should be rectangular tables in front of each chair, not round banquet tables. Whoever handles the ballroom should understand the difference. The elevator was another real irritation, it’s so narrow that bringing several bags would be a problem. I’m not keen on the building’s exterior, but for a budget hotel in a small town like Duri, it’s pretty good. It has the usual big-city facilities too, including a pool, gym, spa, and massage services. Apart from those issues, it was a nice place to stay and hold an event.
