Alam Bali Hotel

I loved staying at this guest house. It felt peaceful and welcoming, away from busy, crowded areas, and the people running it were really kind and accommodating. The beach and great places to eat are close by. It felt like a hidden gem, and I'd highly recommend it for a relaxing monthly escape.

The staff were lovely, breakfast was great, and there was unlimited tea. The pool had a charming feel, and the shared areas were relaxing. Our room was upgraded because we arrived early and the other rooms were booked, but the upgraded room seemed worse than the standard ones. The bedding was clean and the room didn't smell, but it needs renovation or a serious deep clean. There was chewing gum stuck to the back of the bed, the bath looked a little scary, and the mirror was very dirty. The bathroom hadn't been properly cleaned either, despite having a bath. The room itself felt old and could use better cleaning. We considered staying longer, then decided to carry on traveling. We hope to return because the staff were so nice, and hope the hotel invests in renovations. Ask to see the rooms before settling in, and be polite to the staff.

The staff were friendly, breakfast was tasty, and everything else worked well. The room was small but clean, with a working shower and air conditioner; the fresh air at night made it easy to sleep. It’s across the road from the beach, so it’s on the second line. The one awkward thing was the glass partition between the bedroom and the toilet and shower. It only had a bamboo blind that you could see through, so we hung a sarong to separate the spaces.

The pool was great, and the room was simple and nice, with a TV. The toilet handle kept coming off after flushing, but everything else was good. Staff were friendly, breakfast was huge, and there’s a free shuttle to the beach once a day. The restaurant around the corner is very good.
