Sekar Nusa Villas

Two years ago, we had a really good stay, so I booked the hotel again. This time, though, the whole place felt miserable, almost abandoned. There were dumps around the grounds, the villas were quite dirty, and there were lots of slugs in the toilet. Our pool towels were ragged, and there was no furniture by our private pool. Staff said they had collected it from all the villas because it was broken. The hotel has deteriorated so much since our first visit that it looked like a setting for a zombie apocalypse movie. It seems like the owners may be planning to close it.

We got great value for what we paid, and the private pool was a welcome bonus. Our first night started with a late arrival, but the staff made us feel welcome. The villa was old and a bit tired, though we loved it, and the King bed was very comfortable. I also loved the outdoor shower. The restaurant and pool could use a revamp.

I checked in during the evening, then saw the state of the place the next morning and asked to leave right away and get a refund. They said they'd refund the nights I didn't stay, but I still lost 80 dollars for that first night, which absolutely wasn't worth it. I moved to a nearby hotel at half the price and was very happy with its condition. The bathroom and yards were dirty and disgusting, with insects everywhere. I know it was rainy season, but the cleanliness was completely unacceptable. I paid 80 dollars a night and ended up sleeping with mosquitoes, finding red worms on the bathroom floor the next day, and seeing antenna insects all over the yard and walkway. Some even got into my bedroom. I was glad I hadn't left my luggage on the floor. I didn't use the private pool because I arrived at night and it was too dark to check it properly. In the morning, I saw insects and worms swimming in it. I asked them to spray and clean the whole room, but when I came back four hours later, nothing had changed. The villas and the widespread insects seem to have been left to breed for a long time. They seriously need pesticide treatment across the entire place. Charging such high prices feels like lying to customers, and they shouldn't be in business.

The room is big, and the tub is a great size for a romantic soak. Breakfast choices are limited, though the coffee is fine. It may not be luxurious, but the place is lovely and private for a getaway with someone you love.
