Alloyna Country Cottage

The room felt damp and had a strong moldy smell, so I couldn't sleep well. Some of the basics also needed attention: the water heater barely worked, the pressure was low, the cups were very dirty, and the stored towels were dusty. A few facilities were under maintenance. The decor inside was nice, the outside view made for good photos, and breakfast was good. Overall, it was just so-so.

We ended up booking Alloyna Cottage on the spot because every hotel was full. The direct rate was IDR 700k. The room was clean and the bed and other amenities were comfortable, and the service was good. The bathroom was dim, especially after dark, and there was no hot water, so our showers were cold and uncomfortable.

It's peaceful here, though a little outside town. On a motorbike, the city is only about 8 minutes away. They rent bikes at very cheap rates, but check one over first: the rear lights on ours didn't work. The staff were very helpful, and breakfast and coffee are included. There are around 8 individually designed bungalows, with more being built, and each has wooden bed furniture.

The breakfast was unacceptable for us. We were served “toast and egg omelette”: the bread was just warm white bread, which was okay, but the omelette was inedible, and I couldn't tell when it had been cooked. The ground-floor rooms were moldy. If you're allergic to mold, book an upstairs room.
