Hotel Ammi Cepu

The bed was fairly comfortable, and the onde-onde welcome treat was delicious. Breakfast didn’t have much variety, but it tasted fine. The hotel is quiet and has a colonial style, though it feels old and needs maintenance. The toilet flush was very slow, the curtain was torn, and the towel and sheet were stained. The room was a bit dusty and not especially clean.

I’d just arrived in Cepu and was pleasantly surprised by Ammi Hotel. The building is striking, and inside feels welcoming too. The staff greeted me warmly and made me feel at home. I liked the coffee, but the atmosphere was what made the visit worthwhile.

The room’s design really stood out, with a high ceiling, lovely large pillows, and good-quality furniture and accessories. I also liked the unusual kettle base kit, the welcome cake, and how well the takeaway meal box was prepared. I first stayed here recently and ended up writing a long review after exploring the complex and reading the guidebook in my room. Outside, the facilities seemed poorly maintained or in need of modernization. It has a colonial style; some rooms were broken, and I wouldn’t recommend the pool for swimming. The grounds were very quiet, perhaps because occupancy was low. In the large room, there weren’t many free power outlets, the cold box didn’t work properly, and the TV channel list needs updating. In my view, it suits guests who like to spend the whole day in their room. Thanks, and I hope it improves next time.

The breakfast selection is limited if you’re judging by five-star hotel standards, so there’s room to improve there. Still, even though it isn’t new, this may be the best hotel in the area. The dazzling white marble, unusual design, and exotic pools give it a Mediterranean feel.
