Hostel Bogor

My father and I stayed at this hostel for two days. The ibu and her staff were so kind and helpful, and the place was super clean. They went beyond what I expected in their hospitality. I'd definitely recommend Hostel Bogor to anyone visiting Java, especially after landing in Jakarta and wanting time to get used to the weather.

Miss Ika and the other lady who helps her are lovely, and Miss Ika speaks English well. She even drove us to the police station and helped us sort things out after my partner lost his phone on a day trip. The whole house is beautiful, modern, clean, and well organized. My room was comfortable with a fan, though you can choose AC. There are two bathrooms downstairs and one upstairs, all with hot showers, and one has a bath. There's a nice outdoor sitting area, and you can either have breakfast or use the kitchen to cook. They also do daily laundry free of charge. Very, very nice people. I highly recommend staying here.

The price is the cheapest I've found in the Bogor area so far. The house is clean and tidy, the owners are welcoming and hospitable, and it feels like home. Soap and shampoo are well-known brands, and the weather and water are cool and fresh. The room has no AC, but you can pay extra to use it. It's suitable for foreigners and for just sleeping overnight. Breakfast is poor and has no meat, but that's fine.

Ika and her husband are extremely friendly and helpful. They chat with everyone and share lots of information about Bogor and the surrounding area, always trying to make travelers comfortable. The homestay feels like home. It's a little away from the center, which wasn't a problem for me: take the nearby green mini bus (angkot) #8, or #9 from the main road by Azra Hospital, and you'll reach the center in under 7 min. PS. The Damri bus runs between Botani Square and Jakarta airport every 30 min. Highly recommended. Travel safe.
