Arch Hotel

The location is handy, with food nearby and even a cake shop close to the hotel. My room, number 310, was comfortable enough, but it kept getting hot because the AC would stop working. I called the front desk and they sent someone, but he couldn’t fix it.

The location is great, but parking is very limited and difficult. Security weren’t very helpful, and there’s no security post, so I had to wait for someone to show up and help me park. I booked a club room, but there was no breakfast option, even after I checked other booking sites. Check-in was easy, though I had to leave a 100k deposit for the room key. I was on the 6th floor. The key worked, but the door knob wouldn’t move, and it took five tries to get inside. It was a large corner room with huge windows, but opening them didn’t give us a view of Bogor because something blocked it. The sofa was so dirty I wouldn’t sit on it. The bathroom had very little light, though the water pressure and heat were okay. The bed was large and comfortable, and the room had the usual amenities, but there was no bottled water. That felt odd for a room costing 650k++.

The room we booked suited my wife, but the rest of the welcome fell short. We arrived at about 11.30 pm after a tiring six-hour trip from Bandung to Bogor, and the receptionist seemed uninterested, greeting us flatly and processing check-in without much warmth. The lobby beside the pool didn’t look like the advertised pictures, and there wasn’t much sign of hospitality, such as a bar, pool staff or a welcome drink. In the room we noticed spots on the pillows and sheets, no laundry bags, and incomplete amenities. The bathroom wasn’t clean either. Thanks.

Parking may be difficult when the hotel is busy. The attendant usually takes the car keys and parks for us, and they photograph the car first in case there’s a scratch and a misunderstanding later. The hotel is easy to get to on Jalan Pajajaran, right on the road, with a pizza restaurant across the street. I had a room facing the road, so traffic noise came in, but it didn’t bother me. The lighting is decent and not too bright. Our deluxe room was spacious enough, and the bathroom was clean. There’s a small pool, and breakfast was enough to get the day started. If you’re in Bogor and just need somewhere to sleep, it could suit you. There aren’t many room choices, but overall, keep it up, Hotel Arch!
