Lotus ll Guesthouse

Borobudur is only a few meters away on foot, and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. There’s an Alfamart close by as well, so this is a handy budget option if you’re visiting the temple. We stayed as a family in a big, clean ground floor room facing the field. The bathroom door wouldn’t stay shut unless it was locked, and renovation work in the room above made noise during the day. Keep in mind this is a guest house, so don’t expect hotel standards. As in many Indonesian towns, you’ll hear mosque prayers, including at dawn.

The owners are really nice, and the guesthouse sits among rice fields. If you still need a Borobudur ticket, get to the entrance at 6:15 in the morning. Climb tickets go on sale at 6:30, and you need to arrive early to get one. Also, explore the area with Nuri, who works at the guesthouse. It was a great experience!

The staff were incredibly helpful and knew all about local activities. We booked one of the cheapest rooms, but they upgraded us to a huge one with a beautiful view at no extra cost. The inside of Lotus II is beautiful, with rice fields and a small fish pond. We had such a wonderful stay, easily one of the best places of our trip. The room and bed were very comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a decent guest house in a great spot close to Borobudur temple. The parking area and shower water pressure could be better, but I’d happily stay here again.
