Tanawana Borobudur Living

The café has an excellent view and makes a great photo spot. Most parts of the hotel look good in photos, and the architecture is well done, with impressive paddy-field views. The place feels pleasant, natural, and thoughtfully designed. Still, a few things need work. I found a spider in the room as soon as we arrived, and later found a worm in the bathroom. I understand bugs can be part of being outdoors, but they shouldn't be inside the room. The hotel provided insect spray, though I don't think guests should need it. The bathroom's nature concept was clear, but this much exposure wasn't okay for a hotel room. The bed linen also smelled slightly, which made me question its cleanliness. This stay made me realize nature-themed hotels aren't for me. The ceiling feature above the bed lets in strong natural light, which looks nice, but there are no shades or coverings. That made it hard for our toddler to nap during the day. Breakfast fell short of my expectations, too. I ordered room service, and it took 30 minutes just to bring a matcha drink and bakwan. The bakwan wasn't good, with too much flour.

We tried the smallest room, the Bhumi type, and though it was compact, it was still comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel is one of the best retreat stays around Borobudur temple, with spacious rooms too, a quiet setting, and wonderful service. Breakfast was great, and we also tried the menu at Alaswatu Kitchen.

The smart TV came with premium YouTube and Netflix access, which surprised me most. The food was tasty, the staff were very helpful, and the compact room had a nice aesthetic. It's a peaceful place near Borobudur temple, with a complete package for anyone looking to chill. Such a wonderful experience.

The room was cozy and the staff were kind, which made for an easy, comfortable stay. Tanawana feels calm and close to nature, a peaceful hideaway in Borobudur where you can slow down and recharge. Highly recommended!
