The staff were really friendly, and they gave guests sanjai as a souvenir. It tasted good and made it easy for tourists to find a souvenir. The place was comfortable enough, but the facilities were lacking. The hot water didn’t work properly, there was dust everywhere, and the room smelled a bit damp.

We stayed four nights, and overall my family and I were satisfied with the service at Ananda Hotel. It’s a short distance from Jam Gadang Bukittinggi and Pasar Atas, while other attractions are about 10/15 minutes away. Our room was clean and had a hot shower, refreshments, TV, and a clothes rack. It also had a holy Quran and prayer mat for Muslim guests. The staff were friendly and quite helpful, though a few times I didn’t get the towels, sugar, or hot drinking water I’d requested. Free breakfast is served every day at the hotel cafe from 08:00 to 10:00, with fried rice and tea or coffee. Staff told me they don’t provide an iron for guests, but the hotel does offer laundry and ironing service.

A decent place for a short stay in Bukittinggi. Breakfast is adequate, and you can request lontong or nasi goreng, with coffee or tea.

The bed was fine, but there was no air conditioning. The wall fan was dirty, and the toilet had no sink and hadn't been cleaned properly.
