Bali Bhuana Villas

It’s quiet here, a reasonable distance from busy Amed, and the nearby warungs are good. Everything was fine, from the rooms and pool to the staff and breakfast. An amazing local place. We’ll come back on our next trip!

My partner and I spent two nights here, and it was by far my worst experience in Bali. I felt unsafe and uncomfortable because the staff were extremely aggressive and disrespectful, and seemed ready to pick a fight over small things. From the start, the service was terrible. They weren’t helpful with our bags when we arrived, and the same attitude continued throughout the stay. Basic hospitality was missing: we didn’t get towels until the second day, despite asking repeatedly. On checkout day, staff refused to give us a fresh towel and only handed one over after my partner asked several times. At around 11 a.m. on the second day, a staff member turned up to clean without warning. We were about to meditate and politely asked him to come back in one or two hours. He flatly refused, saying he wouldn’t clean later, so our room was never cleaned during the stay. The AC barely worked and seemed not to have been serviced in years. The place felt dark and unpleasant, and the person managing things over the phone was unresponsive and unhelpful. I honestly don’t understand the high rating. My experience was nothing like the reviews I read. Maybe people are pressured to leave positive ratings. If you value safety, respect, and even basic hospitality, I’d strongly recommend avoiding this place.

We loved the view and the quiet spot, far enough from the road that there was little traffic noise. Bali Bhuana was so good that my wife and I extended our stay by four more days. The villas were clean and comfortable, and the pool was amazing. It’s in a nice part of Amed, close to some of the town’s best restaurants. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, and breakfast eggs were perfect. We’ll definitely return.

The room was far too hot, with poor ventilation and an AC unit that was much too small to cool it down. We were received very poorly from the start. A staff member named Wayun was shockingly rude. I think he’s been mentioned many times in previous reviews, and we experienced it ourselves. I’m not sure why they continue to keep him. Terrible stay. Avoid!
