Villa Gumamela Bali

When I returned to this villa over Easter 2023, it was just as gorgeous as I remembered. The peaceful surroundings haven't changed since my last visit. There are also great restaurants and places of interest nearby, all within a 5-10 minute drive. We've been to Bali many times, but our stay at Gumamela made this our most memorable holiday. It's a luxurious villa with amazing views and lovely decor. The staff were so hospitable and ready to help, and cooked us some really yummy meals.

We loved having both privacy and easy access to Candidasa's restaurants, shops and attractions, just a short drive away. The villa manager was available with recommendations and help arranging transport. The four bedrooms were spacious, beautifully furnished and comfortable, with thoughtful details throughout. The staff made us feel at home from the welcome onward, always friendly and professional. Villa Gumamela sits right by the sea, with wide ocean views and an infinity pool overlooking it. We relaxed on the sunbeds and swam while listening to the waves. From the moment we arrived, the views and amenities impressed us. It was a beautiful, luxurious place for our group. Our stay exceeded expectations, bringing together relaxation, beauty and wonderful hospitality. Thank you to the whole team for making it memorable. I returned to Villa Gumamela in August 2025, and it still feels like #ASliceOfHeaven. Tucked away on Bali's secluded west side, it's ten minutes from Padang Bai harbour. The peaceful setting, lovely greenery and beautifully kept rooms all add to the experience. There's a gorgeous 25 meter pool and a priceless view of the Java Sea and sunset. The team of seven professional hosts, Reya, Nengah, Mey, Martin, Putu, Ogi and Mangku, gave us world class service. The local and western meals were delicious too. Reya and the team made all the little moments special: breakfast by the sea with morning birds singing, a spa and Balinese massage to the gentle waves, a BBQ with loved ones under the stars, and quiet swims and reading by the pool. There are photo spots everywhere. This is the best place I've stayed on any vacation, and I can't wait to return again and again for a slice of heaven. 2024 Vacation My wife and I were recommended Villa Gumamela. We travel often, enjoy beautiful villas and places, and have stayed in Conde Nest rated hotels in Hawaii and Bermuda, among others. We're selective about where we go. In a word, if you want an immersive experience of Bali as Paradise on Earth, stay at Gumamela. There are four beautiful rooms with private areas, a massive master bedroom, and a 30 meter lap pool amid sparse greenery. Inside, flowers and exquisite decorations add color. You can hear birds and the ocean by day, and creatures singing at night, with stars overhead. The food is irresistible and the villa attendants are charming and professional. Have breakfast in the morning breeze by the waves, or swim under the moonlight. We stayed a week and wished we could have stayed longer. Book early, as we found it hard to get an open date.

We chose Villa Gumamela for a family celebration of several college graduations. There were six of us, including four “kids” in their twenties. Our athletic group had triathletes and competitive runners who made good use of the pool and found running routes from the villa through to town. Bali is fascinating, lively and fun, but our favorite part was coming back each day: a wonderful meal, a refreshing swim in the beautiful infinity pool, a relaxing massage, or just those postcard views. The villa is magnificent and the staff are warm and accommodating. They also arranged all our transport and outings, including a sunrise hike up Mt Batur, waterfalls, feeding 100 year old giant coi, a honey bee farm and civet Luwak coffee tasting, cultural sites, and shopping in Ubud. Our words of gratitude don't feel like enough. We give Gumamela Villa 10 stars, and encourage everyone reading this to put this unique paradise on their life’s bucket list! Julie and Santiago
