Bajalo Cottage Canggu

It felt like being in a little forest, and I really didn't want to leave after eight nights. Bajalo Cottage Canggu is tucked away from the main road, so it’s peaceful and free from crazy traffic, yet close to the gym, pilates studio, spa, and smoothie shops. The dim room lighting was the one small drawback, though it added to the cozy woods feeling. There are 14 charming cottages. When I visited in rainy season, only about a third were occupied, but the staff kept right on cleaning, gardening, and looking after the shared areas. They worked incredibly hard. The rooms were cleaned more than three times a day, which amazed me. A lovely nature-filled retreat close to everything.

I really liked being able to shower and bathe in the outdoor bathroom. The clean, relaxing pool and friendly, helpful staff made the stay even nicer. My bungalow was lovely and well cared for, with a fridge and aircon. It’s near Canggu’s main spots, but still feels like a peaceful little oasis.

The staff made my eight days at Bajalo Cottages feel personal. Everyone, especially the manager, was warm and attentive, called me by name, and shared helpful tips and friendly conversation. The grounds and relaxing atmosphere are lovely, and the place offers great comfort and value. Canggu can feel overwhelming, with busy traffic and constant construction, but Bajalo is a calm pocket away from the noise. The separate bungalows line a lush garden path, and I especially enjoyed the open-air bathrooms and pleasant pool. Restaurants, cafés, bars, and the beach are all an easy walk away. It was just the rejuvenating escape I needed.

As a solo woman traveller, I felt completely safe at Bajalo Villas. Every staff member treated me with kindness and respect, and the service was excellent. They cleaned my room in the morning while I went to the gym or breakfast, then offered turndown service in the evening. The garden was lush and perfectly maintained, and the wooden villas were immaculate. My bed was large, clean, and comfortable, the amenities were great, and I loved the outdoor bathroom. The pool was lovely and clean too. I'll definitely be back.
