I loved how welcoming and cozy this place in Canguu felt. The room had lots of space, thoughtful design, a desk, a balcony, and lovely natural light. Having full use of the kitchen and an onsite washer made things easy, and I ended up walking everywhere because I liked the location so much. Mosquitoes did bite me, so bring spray. That was the only downside for me. A local family lives on the property, and you’ll sometimes hear the children playing. I found that warm and homey, though it may not suit everyone. I could easily imagine staying here for weeks or even months. I’ve already booked another stay with my friends and can’t wait to return.

Candra homestay worked really well as a quiet place to work remotely, with rooms cleaned every other day, great air conditioning, and Wi-Fi that held up for my whole stay. It’s also close to plenty of good restaurants and cafes. I felt very safe walking around on the newly finished footpaths, and Grab or Gojek drivers were usually with me within 2-3 minutes. Wayan is a great surf instructor, so surfers are in good hands here. There are several room types, so make sure you know which one you’re booking.

The location was perfect, and the room was good, with a nice balcony. The kitchen was a welcome extra. The owner was very helpful and made sure to be there for my check-in even though I arrived a bit late. I had an amazing stay at Candra surf homestay.
