Casa Casbah Villa by Betterplace

Everything was easy for surfing: restaurants are right across the street, and after a short walk of about 100m you can rent a board and be in the water. The house is clean and has everything you need, with great staff too. The location couldn’t be better. Highly recommended!

We couldn’t sleep for two nights and left at a huge financial loss because of the noise. If sleep matters on your Bali holiday, don’t book Casa Casbah. The villa is pretty, with lush gardens, spacious grounds, and a refreshing pool, and the staff were polite, though inexperienced. None of that helped when two outdoor nightclubs right next door played live bands and DJs from 6pm until 2.30am. The bass shook the floors, and even with doors and windows shut and Bose noise cancelling headphones, it came through the walls. We measured over 70 decibels in the bedrooms with doors closed at 1am. We had read about “noise from surrounding temples and bars,” but that doesn’t prepare you for a ticketed outdoor rock band and partygoers, plus another bar with a subwoofer right beside the villa. We booked as a family of nine, including four children under 10 and an elderly grandparent, and were obviously not there to party. Nobody warned us that these popular clubs stay loud until 2-3am every night. We asked the owner for an early checkout and refund but were refused. We couldn’t stay another night, so we cancelled and found other accommodation where we could sleep. Sleep is precious on holiday, and a pretty villa or garden can’t make up for losing it.

The villa is nice, but a beach bar nearby runs from 11pm to 5am and makes it really hard to sleep. If you’re partying all night, that probably won’t bother you.

The villa is really cute and right by the beach. I expected the music to be too loud since it’s next to Old Man’s, but we all slept fine. The location is great, and I’d love to stay again.
