Echo Beach Duo

The staff and facilities were really good, and everyone was happy to help. The apartments are spacious, good quality, and reasonably priced, near lots of the restaurants at Echo Beach. It’s a quiet boutique hotel, so if you want an easy, peaceful stay, it’s a nice place to check out.

The breakfast was a letdown and brings the hotel rating down. Despite plenty of negative comments, management hasn’t acted. All they provide is instant coffee and a slice of toast. Anything more costs extra, and nearby cafés offer the same or better meals for less. They’d have been more honest to say breakfast wasn’t provided. The bed also has a ridiculous frame around it that’s easy to kick. The penthouse is three storeys, with the lounge downstairs, bedroom and bathroom on the second level, and sun loungers and a bed on the third, so it’s only suitable for people who are young and fit. Small towels in the kitchen and a hand towel in the bathroom would have helped. On the plus side, we stayed in the huge, very flashy Penthouse Apartment (Jarrah), with three decks for sitting outdoors and taking in the 360 degree views. Both the bedroom and lounge had air-conditioning and TVs. Staff carried our luggage up and down the stairs. The location is perfect, close to the beach, cafés, shops, a convenience store, and a liquor store, on a quiet street 50m off Batu Bolong (main street). Each room has its own router, so WiFi was great, and there’s security on-site 24/7.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this villa made me want to. We booked the whole place for a family reunion of sorts and loved our stay. It worked really well for us with a 5, 3, and 1yo along. The pool is beautiful and could be fenced off easily, and the lovely gardens gave the little ones plenty of room to run around and tire themselves out. The staff were incredibly friendly and always smiling, even with the mess from the adults and kids. A special thank you to Wayan, who’s a great cook and an even nicer person, and to Dewa, who served meals and organized activities with a huge smile. I’d definitely recommend the villa to friends or anyone wanting to stay on the Canggu side of the island.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and kept everything very clean. It’s a basic place near the beach, with no views and only a small pool area. Nothing special.
