Serenity Eco Guesthouse and Yoga

My room was the Ocean Blue, up where the penthouse might be. It was sunny and comfortable, with AC, hot water in the private bathroom, a small balcony, a veiled bed, a table and chairs, room to unpack, a mini fridge, and a safe. It's a bit of a climb if you're not fully mobile. I can't speak for all the different accommodations, but this one worked well for me. The complex has an organic, sprawling shape, as if it grew there instead of being built. I admire its practical approach to sustainability: reuse over recycling, fully plant based meals, and trying to do more with less. They're not perfect, but who is? In a competitive hospitality business, they seem to be doing a very good job. There are excellent yoga classes ranging from very yin to very, very yang, bikes and scooters for rent, and the beach is a slow five minute walk away. I've stayed in this part of Bali several times, but this was my first time at the hostel. What really sets it apart is the service and community. Breakfast and conversation were both very good. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

For two months, Serenity Eco Guesthouse felt like family, not just a place to stay. From management and reception to the cleaners and gardening team, everyone made me feel welcome and treated me with such lovely energy. Alkaline was unbelievable. The staff there are beautiful souls, and the food was the best I've had. They always took great care with my dietary needs. Whenever I'm back in Canggu, this is where I'll stay. Thank you all for the kindness and support, until we meet again.

The facilities are a little rough around the edges compared with the rest of Canggu, but that became part of the charm for me. I was unsure about dorm privacy from the photos, then found it totally fine. The garden is lovely for downtime, the restaurant works well for meeting people or getting some work done, and the food is solid. Massages are top notch too, shoutout to Ani! As a solo traveler, I met so many genuine people, both guests and staff. Aldi, Octa, Sabrina, Irsa, Cipta, and all the front desk team made me feel at home. The cleaning staff even noticed I wasn't using my blanket and folded it up for me every day when they made the bed. Such a small, sweet thing, but it shows how much care they put in. The yoga is affordable for the quality, and the teachers are excellent. I loved it so much that I came back after three weeks, and it was lovely being recognized and welcomed back. Huge thanks to the family who run this place and create such a strong community. I miss it already, but I'll be back and will send lots of people to visit!

The bed was really comfortable, and the dorms were cleaned every day. There were excellent daily yoga classes for all abilities. My only small suggestion is to improve the guest towels. Mine was old and torn, and it left fluff on my skin when I dried off, so I didn't feel completely clean. The spa towels were much better quality and made for a far nicer experience.
