Ocean Brothers Ceningan

The breakfast was decent, and the breakfast ladies were the only good part of our stay. They were polite and friendly. The location was fine, but the rest was awful. The pictures don’t match what we found. Our sheets had yellow and blood stains when we checked in; the man, who was rarely around, just said, “yeah yeah we sort it later.” Later we noticed the tap water smelled like sewer and the room was full of bugs. The walls and wood were mouldy and covered in unpleasant marks and stains. There was never anyone around to ask for help, and the walls are not soundproof, so we heard everyone outside as soon as they got up. Save your money.

The room was spacious and clean, with a huge comfortable bed, and there were lovely sun loungers too. Renting a bike was cheap, and they arranged a boat back to Bali for us at a good price. It was a safe boat. We stayed at three places along the strip, and this one cost less than places like Le Pirate but was much better. No flea-ridden dogs begging for food or Cockrals waking us up, and there was a warm shower. The staff were polite and very helpful. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it.

We stayed upstairs, looking out over the seaweed farms and clear water, and the beds were really comfortable. The room also had a fridge, water, tea and coffee, though the three brothers working there were happy to bring us coffee, bintangs or soft drinks whenever we wanted. They were the best part of our stay. After our boat arrived, they arranged a driver to meet us with our luggage. Lio was especially friendly and took us around the island on scooters, showing us the tourist spots and a couple of local hidden places. Ocean Brothers is affordable and comfortable, a great base for snorkeling, beach hopping and local restaurants on the Nusa islands. I highly recommend it for a visit to Nusa ceningan.

We enjoyed our stay a lot. The service was nice, and the guys even gave us breakfast after we had checked out. There’s a nice bar nearby too. A good place to spend the night.
