The sea view was lovely, and the room was quite large with a big bed. It’s close to Pulau Merak Kecil/Besar and the Ferry Port, so it could work for a night’s rest after a long trip or a vacation around Merak. But checking in was a mess. I’d booked through Agoda, yet the FO of Hotel Merpati couldn’t find my reservation from Agoda and RedDoorz. I had to call the FO Hotel, Agoda and RedDoorz, then wait about an hour while already tired from the trip. It used up a lot of my phone credit, too. The bathroom was dirty, the water was dirty and sticky with a brackish taste, and the water heater didn’t work properly. I think the place has potential as a vacation spot if management fixes these problems.

The sea view, with lots of ships and boats, the breeze, and the sunset are the best parts. It’s an affordable room near the Merak seaport, handy for a transit stop or a weekend. Bring your own snacks or food since there’s no room service. You can buy something outside the hotel, and don’t be surprised if people are singing karaoke late into the night, usually until midnight. 😁

The place was very dirty and outdated, with no shower and no Wi-Fi in the room.

I was really disappointed. The toilet was disgusting, there were lots of cockroaches, and the service was bad. They also couldn’t upgrade the room. I hope management realizes customers need to feel comfortable when they’re paying for a service. That’s just my opinion based on the current situation.

The water had a taste, the terrace lights weren’t working properly, and there was no Wi-Fi connection. The toilet needs maintenance too. It felt like a waste of time and money.
