MD7 Hotel Cirebon

The location is near the train station, but it’s noisy, between a hospital and a mosque. Rooms are cramped, with nowhere to put luggage or sit except on the bed. Cleanliness was poor, especially in the shower stall, where every corner had mold and caked-on dirt. The towels were threadbare, and there was nowhere to hang them or anything else. I had two unpleasant nights and wouldn’t stay again or recommend it.

The location is fantastic, right across from alun2. There are two water dispensers on each floor in the hallway. The rooms are a bit tiny, with the toilet and shower in separate little spaces. The tiny washbasin is outside the shower, right by the bed, so water splashes onto the floor. The blanket is exactly the size of the bed, which doesn’t cover two people well. Towels are old but fairly clean. At checkout I had to wait for them to inspect the room, but after more than five minutes they let me go.

There’s a great nearby bar/pub, Grizzly, with draught beer and a very good happy hour. The hotel is a reasonable distance from the Station. I’d ask for a room on the elevator side, which is much quieter.

Good value for money, very clean, and well maintained. The rooms are designer-style with a few unusual touches, including a freestanding sink vanity outside the shower, and the bed is very comfortable. It’s a chic, modern budget hotel, but rooms are compact, so don’t expect much space. No frills or extras, and the buffet breakfast is included. It feels clinical and functional.
