We came for the à la carte unlimited breakfast, as recommended by the flip flop traveller, iykyk, and it didn't disappoint. Such a treat. We booked a king room with lagoon access for the middle of February and got a surprise upgrade to a suite. Thank you, Andaz. The room was clean, spacious and beautiful, with a huge patio opening onto a lagoon linked to the main pool and a sea view. It felt like paradise. Nature was everywhere. We heard birds singing every morning, saw cockatoos and lots of other birds, and spotted a monitor lizard swimming in the spa's lily pond. After the rain, toads croaked. The grounds were immaculately maintained, with staff almost always tending them. We liked the layout too, since rooms seemed to have good privacy and some kind of view, whether gardens, pool or beach. Evening turndown was a lovely touch, and service was warm and friendly.

We stayed two nights for the first time and had a great place to celebrate a birthday. As Globalists, we were upgraded from a standard king to a king suite. The patio was as large as the room, and having two full bathrooms was a bonus. It was only a few steps from the adults only pool. The property felt almost like a jungle villa, since we rarely crossed paths with other guests. The paths were clean, wide and well lit, though a little slick when wet. Breakfast was à la carte and plentiful. The flavors were a bit flat, but salt and pepper helped. Staying longer might make a menu without rotation feel repetitive. Leonard gave us a smooth, pleasant check-in and a helpful tour of the property map. Kusuma took great care of us at breakfast. This is an expensive property for Bali, but points or an FNC can make it worthwhile. We'd spend a couple of days here again if we got the chance.

The grounds were beautifully kept, and our room was luxurious, with lovely decor. I enjoyed the freestanding tub and heated jet toilet, but the staff are what really made this hotel stand out. Everyone we met was warm and charming. We especially liked talking with Agung while lounging by the main pool. He made us feel so welcome, and those interactions are a big reason we'd look forward to returning. My husband and I travel often and stay at Hyatt hotels, but this was our first trip to Bali and the Andaz Hotel in Sanur went far beyond what we expected. Great job, Andaz!

We spent four nights at Andaz Sanur in a pool villa and left with nothing but good memories. The villa was quiet and private, with understated but very cool architecture and a luxurious feel. The grounds were lush, the facilities were excellent, and the service was superb. It took us a day or two to work out where our villa was because it was tucked into a quiet spot away from the main resort and wasn't well signposted. We kept getting lost and asking passing staff for help. It felt like a mini tropical labyrinth, though being tucked away wasn't really a bad thing. Breakfast was a highlight. The extensive à la carte menu had so many dishes and cuisines that we rarely had the same thing during our four days. We borrowed the complimentary bicycles a few times to explore. Dinner at both Fishermans Club and Village Square was excellent, though not cheap, as you'd expect at a five star property. Prices have 21% tax added. The WhatsApp concierge replied incredibly fast, usually within seconds, and no problem seemed too small. Ema was especially helpful when my credit card was blocked. She arranged for me to call my bank in Japan, a long conversation that I wasn't charged for, which was a nice gesture. My partner and I surfed every day and arranged a boat out to nearby reefs. The location was ideal for us. We liked how authentic this part of Bali felt, without the crowds of some other places. The area seemed to draw an older crowd of diverse nationalities. My partner also enjoyed a yoga class. Our booking included a US$100 credit and 4pm late checkout, both nice extras. It was my birthday, and the staff surprised us with a cake and a card signed by the manager. The coconut cake was so good. My passport must have been flagged when it was entered into their system. Thank you, Andaz, you're all legends!

My first Andaz stay was spectacular. The food was excellent, and the barista made coffee to order all day. There were snacks in my room and it was spotlessly clean. They even left a bath bomb for the tub. Everyone was friendly and smiling. I also got quick advice and reservations from the concierge, plus access to the Hyatt sauna, steam room and jacuzzi in the adults only section, five minutes away. High quality and a high standard, worth every bit. I almost never return to the same place, but I'd come back without hesitation.
