Please stay away. The older woman who is supposed to be the owner was really annoying. She told us not to use the AC in the afternoon and would often switch off the light in our room. The service was terrible. I don't even want to give this place one star.

The breakfast was tasty and had a good range of choices, and the location was peaceful while still close to local sights and restaurants. At Nira Guest House, the staff made check-in easy and were welcoming from the start. My room was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated, with the things I needed. The bed was very cozy, and the modern bathroom was well cared for. I'd gladly stay again on another trip.

This place falls short of Western standards, so I strongly recommend avoiding it. There were dark humidity spots in the bathroom, and the toilet seemed to be leaking. People smoked outside the rooms constantly, including at night. I had to cover my nose so I wouldn't be overwhelmed by the smoke.

The family running Nira Guesthouse made my first couple of weeks in Bali special, with attentive service and a homey feel. The pool area was beautiful, and the central location was great. My room was cozy and I slept well, even though the guesthouse sits beside a very busy road. It was dusty when I arrived, but they took care of that quickly after I mentioned it. The sink didn't work, and the shower room was pretty sad, with no hot water. Thank you, Nira Guesthouse!
