Linda Villa Sanur

The surroundings are peaceful, and the villa has a semi-private pool plus an outdoor kitchen. I’ve always liked Sanur, and staying at Linda was a pleasant experience. One thing to keep in mind is that the rainy season may not be the best time to come.

Linda Villa let us check in early, which was kind of them, but we arrived to waist-deep flooding. The villas are entered from a back street on low-lying land, so I’d avoid coming here in December. We had to wade through knee-high, dirty water twice. I understand the weather was responsible, but guests arriving during floods should be warned beforehand. I would have been happy to buy groceries in advance and prepare for the stay. We were effectively stuck inside and couldn’t even order through a delivery app. No one on the villa staff told us whether room service was available. The fridge was empty, and we were given only two tiny bottles of water. The room was large, but mosquitoes were a problem. I hadn’t realized the toilet had an open glass roof, which meant no privacy, and I wouldn’t have chosen that if I’d known. The pool looked clean, though we didn’t use it because of the weather. The whole visit ended on a sour note. As someone who comes to Bali regularly, I found this the saddest service experience. I hope the team can be consistent in all weather, especially since the earlier reviews looked good and helped bring us here.

Check-in went fine, but after dinner we came back to find there was no hot water. The guys in red shirts tried to sort it out without success, and being told somebody must be in the shower wasn’t good enough. They were helpful, but the man behind the office desk seemed not to care.

The only real problem was the shower: the pressure was so weak the water barely came out, and it was cold. If they fix that, this place could be perfect. Otherwise, it’s a lovely small villa, quiet enough for a good rest, with attractive, well-equipped rooms that still look new. Breakfast was tasty, with a few choices.
