For around 2 million rupiah, the facilities felt poor: just an old mattress and TV. The AC wasn’t cold, the room smelled bad, there were lots of cockroaches, and the water looked dirty. Service was fussy and complicated. The only good thing was her husband. I’d stayed here before, but the landlady was intrusive and often meddled in residents’ affairs. Once I forgot to turn off the AC, and she came into my room with a spare key without asking first, saying she had another key. I thought that was rude and inconvenient for privacy. She also complained in a way that didn’t make sense about me forgetting to turn off the AC.
