We had a very comfortable stay in this huge, clean, modern-furnished villa. The big dining table and pool area were great for spending time together as a family. Daily cleaning, along with a very responsive housekeeper and security guard, made things easy. Older reviews mentioned broken furniture, but ours was new and clean. It's about a 15-minute walk to the main strip with shops, not far, though not right on the doorstep.

Six of us were very comfortable in the huge Meranti Villa, one of the beautiful Kesari villas. We were lucky that host Trisna could accommodate us at very short notice after flooding affected our other booking. Each bedroom had a large ensuite, and we appreciated the filtered-water machine and the jugs of filtered water in the bathrooms. I'd highly recommend these villas for a luxury stay in Sanur within walking distance of the main strip.

Villa Merbau was massive and definitely had the wow factor. I think it has five bathrooms for three bedrooms. The location was great, though it was hard to find at first. It's not far from the beach as the crow flies, but walking around to Jalan Danau Tamblingan takes a while, so I recommend renting bikes. The villa could be stunning with a bit of investment. Many of the soft furnishings were torn and badly needed replacing, which seems unnecessary given how cheaply things can be made in Bali. I'm not sure how many of the villas are holiday rentals.
