Tjana Homestay

It's affordable for such a nice, comfortable homestay. The atmosphere, the place, and the owner were all great, and it's family friendly for guests with children. There's also a small kitchen with free coffee, a simple extra that was really nice. For a pretty sunrise, it's about a ten minute walk to Sanur beach.

A handy, low budget place in Sanur, whether you need somewhere simple for the night before heading to the islands or want to stay a few days. It's basic and there's no breakfast, but there's a communal kitchen with basic supplies, plus air conditioning and WiFi in the room. The owner is a really nice guy.

The garden is beautiful and such a nice place to relax, and the family are very friendly. The rooms feel more like hostel quality than the homely rooms I've had at other homestays. There's no hot water, which might be an issue for some. My one personal gripe is the number of caged birds hanging in the garden. It may look lovely, but it's sad to see them trying every day to squeeze out of their tiny cages.

The garden is lovely, the host is wonderful, and it's quiet inside the grounds even though the homestay is close to the main road. I first visited three years ago, then came back in October 2022. It's budget friendly, near the beach, center, and Sindhu night market, and one of Sanur's most affordable places. You do have to walk along a narrow road to reach it. The host also helped us book tickets to Gili Island. It helps to keep expectations in line with the budget. Since my last visit, the room seemed a bit more run down, largely due to COVID, though I believe upkeep is now underway. The veranda view is nice, and the WiFi and AC work well. Showers are cold only. The beds are okay for one or two nights, but better beds and sheets would help. The plugs are a bit far from the bed, so you'll need an extension cord, and the bathroom could use some upkeep. For a budget homestay in Sanur, it's hard to find a better spot.
