Villa Manggis

The house was in very poor shape, with old things falling apart throughout. Couches indoors and out were breaking down, the doors wouldn't close properly, and the kitchen wall had ventilation holes that let in mosquitoes and lizards. Pool tiles were broken, and the water dispenser only gave hot water. It was dirty and hot all over, with mold in bedrooms and bathrooms. We booked as a group of friends because the listing said there were six bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. In reality, only three rooms could be used; the others had mold, no window, or no bathroom. The living room AC didn't work, making that area unusable. Don't book here, it's a health and safety hazard.

The location worked well for us, with restaurants and the beach close enough to walk to. We loved the large, lovely pool for an afternoon dip, and there really are six bedrooms. There's a beautiful shared outdoor area too. A great villa for getting friends together, and I'd recommend it for a big family as well.

Mau, the custodian, is sharp, and Lupy the housekeeper is very friendly and cooks well. I highly recommend ordering food from Lupy. The place is clean, though somewhat old, and the pool tiles need fixing. The location and size are both very good.

Sanur is a great location for this cozy villa. It's peaceful, near the beach and restaurants, and the bedrooms were a highlight, each with its own decor.
