Villa Pantai Karang

Villa Pantai was a lovely surprise and a perfect way to finish our Bali trip. After a difficult two weeks at several other places, I wasn’t sure I wanted to come back. We stayed four nights, and the staff arranged for my mom to join us on the last one. They’d already set up a spare bed for her when we checked in. Walking through the lush greenery to check in felt like arriving at an oasis. Everything was peaceful and spotless, and the service was warm and kind. The villa is in the heart of Sanur, set back from the beach, so it gave us both convenience and quiet. It exceeded our expectations, with two plunge pools and two covered outdoor spots where we could read away from the sun. It felt as if we had the whole villa to ourselves. The king-sized bed, luxurious linens, and amazing pillows made for the most restful sleep. The sunrises were beautiful, and mornings on the beach, meeting people and enjoying the calm views, were unforgettable. I also appreciated the sustainability touches: refillable glass water bottles, free filtered water, and generously sized toiletries. Breakfast on the beach was included too, which was a lovely touch. I’d now happily return to Bali, and for a long stay I’d only consider Villa Pantai. I’m already looking forward to visiting again.

The calm setting really stood out, with birdsong, soft waves and a light breeze. Everything was clean, and the service was friendly. I’d just dropped my guest off after collecting them at the airport, and the trip here felt smooth and comfortable from the start.

We spent our last four nights in Bali at Villa Pantai Karang, and the location was ideal. A gate opens onto the beach, and the shops, restaurants and cafes are only a short walk away. Sanur was very hot and humid, and it was the first place in Bali where we got bitten by mosquitoes, so bring spray if you plan to sit along the promenade. Our sea-view room had a balcony and plenty of space, with a comfortable bed, seating area and a large bathroom with a walk-in shower. The tea and coffee setup included a capsule machine, and they replaced the bags and capsules daily. The staff were lovely, especially Krishna, who was at the desk for most of our stay. Breakfast was the one reason I marked down the service. The fry-up at the Villa's beach cafe was heavy and not very nice. With so many nearby cafes serving fabulous breakfasts, I wouldn’t pay extra for it next time.

With just seven rooms, Villa Pantai Karang feels like a peaceful little hideaway away from the street. The garden and pool are lovely, full of plants, and a small gate leads straight to the beach. Our room was huge and spotless, with a beautiful bathroom and a koi pond right outside the terrace. The staff were warm and helpful while still giving us space, so the stay felt very personal. We also had a wonderful massage that Villa Pantai Karang recommended and arranged for us. It was our first stop in Bali, and we felt at home right away. Saying goodbye was hard, and we’d definitely stay here again if we return to Sanur.
