The view from the terrace, out toward the ocean and the mountains at Bali, is breathtaking. The grounds are beautiful, and the rooms are quiet, spacious, tidy and clean. There’s only a small breakfast selection, but the portions are generous. The hosts and staff were so welcoming and helpful with any concern or issue that we felt like we were spending time with cherished family. This was the best hotel of our holiday in Bali and Lombok. We’ll definitely come back.

After hiking Mt Rinjani, we stayed here for a night on our way to Lombok airport. The owner and staff were brilliant, doing everything they could to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Our large, comfortable room faced a glorious sunset, and we stayed for dinner, which was nice too.

We rented a motorbike at sunset Lavinia, which worked out perfectly. You can walk to the beach, but a taxi or motorbike is needed to reach the best places. They can also arrange laundry. The hilltop setting was quiet, with lovely sunsets, and everything was very clean. We spent three perfect nights there in summer, enjoyed chatting with the owner and her son and daughter in the evenings, and found the staff so nice. Breakfast was perfect too. Great value for the price.

The view and pool are really great, the food is excellent, and it’s genuinely quiet at night. Maya and her family, along with the staff, were all lovely, and the rooms were spacious and clean. You can tell she’s travelled because the room has everything you need. If you need something, they’ll arrange it, even an off-road motorcycle. They all speak English very well. We’ll be back one day.

Sunsets Lavinia made a very comfortable first impression, with beautiful sea breezes, mountain scenery and lovely views of nature in the morning and at night. It felt like a great place to recharge away from city life. Motorbike rentals are available, and they also offer tour packages with vehicles for guests who want to explore. I’d invite anyone to give the place a chance and enjoy the experience. Sunset Lavinia is the place to be.
