The food was good at all three meals, and breakfast is included. It’s a small, relaxed resort with a private beach, run by a French couple. The huts can get a bit warm. Leaving the front door open brings in some air, but the mosquito net can cut down the fan’s airflow. Some huts on the property have A/C. Getting there takes time: the last couple of miles are on rougher roads, and the drive can take up to 45 minutes after turning off the main road. That’s fine if you’re planning to stay put and relax, but allow for the extra time and effort if you want to take day trips.

We felt at home right away thanks to Blondi and Laurent. Their bungalows are lovely, and the grounds are fantastic. Solar panels supply all the electricity. We went out early one morning on their boat for a snorkel tour and saw the amazing corals around Sumba Island. It’s a wonderful place in the middle of nowhere, which makes it even better.

Blondie and Lolo took care of everything, and the food was good and healthy. This is a lovely secluded hotel for slowing down and enjoying each day. It feels close to nature, and the place is very eco-friendly. The fishing was beautiful too. I’d come back!

The beach is right in front of the room, and it’s beautiful. It’s such a cozy place to stay, with really good food and lots of birds and lovely nature around. blonde and laurent are so lovely too. For me, this is the best place to stay in east sumba. Highly recommend!

One of the most beautiful beaches I saw while travelling around the island. Sumba feels pristine and remote here, and the whole stay was a fantastic, unique experience. The place and staff made it feel like an island home. I highly recommend it!
