I’ve never felt so at home in a hotel, and I stay in hotels regularly. The two staff members we saw were amazing, friendly, pleasant, and professional. They kept the pool and property clean and did impeccable housekeeping. The decor showed great taste, and the sheets, pillows, blankets, and towels were spotless, heavenly white, and smelled wonderful. The beds were very comfortable and had lots of pillows, which I loved. The bathroom was spacious, gorgeous, and clean, with handy wire racks and hangers for clothes. The property has a private pool that’s larger and deeper than many pools shared by other Gili Air hotels. The living, dining, and kitchen space is large and airy, with a couch that could seat about eight, a big dining table, large fridge, lovely stove and sink, and plenty of counter space. My favorite touch was the water dispenser with unlimited hot and cold water for guests. If I return to Gili Air, I wouldn’t want to try another hotel.

The owner is very nice and also has a fantastic beach place called Chill Out, about a 12 minute walk from Kygunaya Villa. You can have breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just a cocktail on the comfortable sofa by the sand. They have evening barbecues with fresh fish, and the staff there are very nice too. The food is very good. There are three villas, all new, neat, and very clean, with a pool just outside the door. They have AC, hot water, and beautiful bathrooms. Everything is cleaned daily. There’s also a shared kitchen with a fridge, cooker, and sink, plus free WiFi everywhere. The staff are very nice, and you can ask them for laundry service. The beaches are a 10 minute walk away, and the east side of the island has the best snorkeling spots. Five stars, and I recommend it for children and babies too.

Such a great place, and we’ll definitely choose it again. The staff were very helpful, and the swimming pool was clean. The bedsheets and towels were fresh and super clean. You get privacy while still being close to the beach and main street. The owner also has a chillout bar with the best barbecue on the island. I’d give it six stars.

This was one of our better stays in a self-catered villa, and we travel a lot. The facility is extraordinary, with three large bedrooms, each with an XL ensuite and AC. There are huge L-shaped lounges, a large kitchen and dining area, and an incredible pool behind 10 foot walls for privacy. The rooms and facilities were cleaned and made up daily. It’s a short walk, under 10 minutes, from the port, the main shopping street, and the eastern side of the island, where the better snorkeling is. For sunsets and the more “upmarket” beach clubs on the west side, it’s about a 20 minute walk or a five minute bike ride. There are no motorized vehicles on the island. There’s a water dispenser in the kitchen, and bottled water was provided daily. We brought our own bottles and refilled them from the kitchen.
