We booked through booking.com and were meant to check in at 1 pm, but we were still waiting at 6 pm. Neither the owner nor the person managing the room seemed to know we had a booking. Local people told us the owner was not really with it. We had our 8 year old son with us, and because everything was closed for Eid, we spent the day without food or drink. When we finally reached the owner, he said, "today we have big day I'm not on the island you can find another place". He showed no concern that we had nowhere to stay. It was dark by the time we found somewhere. Booking.com tried to help, but could only find accommodation on another island. The love shack was dirty and worn out, nothing like the pictures on booking . com. It looked as if it hadn't been used for a while. We complained to the agent and asked them to remove the listing so nobody else has the same problem.

People who have booked this cabin keep arriving to find nobody there, according to someone local we spoke to. It has apparently been empty for months. Inside, it was dirty, and the bedding looked like it had been left on the beds for a long time. Nobody seems to look after the place, which we think has real potential. If you're looking for a place to stay on Gili Meno, I'd look elsewhere.

The staff were hard to communicate with because their English was limited. There was no air conditioning, and although the outdoor bathroom was nice, it felt dated and wasn't practical. The curtain by the toilet was too small, see-through, and blew around in the wind. The decor was very dark, even though there was attention to detail. Like the rest of the island, this place seems better suited to couples or people who want solitude. If you're on Gili Meno, be sure to try the "Tip of the Tongue" warung. It has the best food on the island!

It's about 50 meters from the water, and the cool nights and shower make the fans feel manageable without air conditioning. The hostess was very friendly. The maid tried to scam me when I moved in, though, so be careful.
