Ora Resort Gili Meno

I planned on staying one night, but enjoyed it so much that I stayed another. The staff and atmosphere were amazing, and the private room with a pool was great. It had a minibar and kettle, and was super clean, with flowers on the bed, table and in the bathroom. It felt decorated just for me. Breakfast was the best I've had in Indonesia. Homemade yogurt and jam, lots of egg options, something sweet or local goreng, amazing coffee, and watermelon or orange juice. Loved this place.

The calm, cozy atmosphere made our two nights at Ora Resort wonderful. The staff were quick to respond, and the resort manager, Pak Suryatman, was especially helpful and attentive. The food and BBQ at Cafe Gili were delicious. Our room was clean and comfortable. The sea breeze was so refreshing that my husband relaxed and fell asleep on the sofa, and I nearly dozed off by the pool. The views from this quieter side of the island are stunning, and the main hotel pool, which is partly salt water, is lovely. Day beds are limited if you're heading down to enjoy the view. For a private dip, the rooms with pools are worth considering: the plunge pools are extra large, deep and roomy. Inside, I liked the open closet and shower setup, the big bathroom and the much-needed mosquito net. The team were amazing, taking every request seriously and even providing extra help with mosquitoes. There are tons of mosquitoes, though, so bring your own repellent. Lulu, the cat from the attached Gili Cafe, was the highlight of my stay. Her visit felt like a super bonus. One thing to watch: villas in the row that includes 30 and 31 can get noise from the accommodation next door. Between the beachfront views and Lulu's visits, this was a beautiful and very special stay.

The staff were very friendly and arranged a private transfer from Bangsal port to the airport for us at a good price. The villa wasn't especially modern, but everything worked. We liked having a private pool, and the daily cleaning was a big plus. Laundry service was cheap too. We wouldn't recommend the breakfast. It was expensive, with coffee and other drinks charged separately, and we didn't find it very tasty. We went to nearby cafes and restaurants every morning instead. The beach right in front of the villa wasn't very appealing either. A short walk in the other direction takes you to nicer beaches with better access to the sea.
