Gili Guest House

It was peaceful here, even though the main town was very close. The owners were lovely and welcoming, and made us feel at home. They cleaned our room every day and left fresh sheets without us asking. They were also kind and understanding when my friend, who left a night early, accidentally took the key with her. I’d definitely stay again if I return to Gili T.

The staff were super friendly, and the room was decent enough for island prices, but very basic. It had AC, no storage space, and no hot water. It’s away from the noisiest part of Gili T, though earplugs are still needed for the mosque and nights with loud music. The bed had only a small, thin sheet, which could use an upgrade. They made the bed daily, but didn’t change the towels. No breakfast.

We were comfortable enough in the fan room, and the owners were lovely, always keeping the place clean. It’s a budget-friendly option about a 6-7 minute walk from the pier. You can get there by bike or horse carriage, and bikes are available to rent for 50,000 IDR per day. There’s a mosque nearby, so prayers can be heard at different times, including early morning. It didn’t bother us much, since the fan noise helped drown it out. I’d recommend the place if you’re on a budget.

The staff tried to help when I wanted to extend my stay but they had no availability, and I really appreciated them finding a nearby homestay as a possible solution. They also rent bikes for a fee. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and there was a little porch outside. The location was ideal for me, away from the noisy bars but still close enough to walk everywhere.
