The rooms were spotless and well equipped, and the location was central but just off the main street, so it wasn’t too noisy. Breakfast was included, with great nasi goreng or French toast cooked to order. Malik, the hotel manager, was incredible and went out of his way to help. He even got up early on a day off to take us to the harbour and haggle over the snorkelling price so we wouldn’t pay too much. He was smart, funny, and genuinely nice. After four trips to Indonesia, this was by far the friendliest and most genuine place I’ve stayed. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to come back.

The location suited me, and I quite liked the room, but things going wrong made what could’ve been a perfect stay frustrating. I told a male staff member the evening before checkout that I needed a horse cart at 9:30 the next morning. The message never got passed on, and it arrived around 9:50. I missed my 10am boat to Padangbai. The ferry staff said I could still have boarded if I’d been 10 minutes earlier, so now I have to take a four-hour boat ride to Bali instead of one and a half hours. There was a big cockroach in the toilet, no hot shower during our three nights, and one night, while I had diarrhea, neither the toilet nor bidet worked despite me trying the water. I had to pour water in and flush manually all night. It was one of the worst parts of my stay in Gili. The staff are friendly, but some would say yes even when they didn’t understand. One guy always agreed, then went to the kitchen to get a woman staff member, so I had to explain again. The horse cart request got lost, I had to explain the toilet problem to two staff members, and my friend and I weren’t given a second key despite often going out at different times. Staff need better training.

Malik deserves a special thank you. He was a brilliant bartender and a friend, and made our nights unforgettable. The place was nice, and the service was outstanding. We felt welcome right from the start of our three-day stay at gilli ocean club. We had a great time and highly recommend Gilli Ocean club. We’ll definitely be back.

We had a lovely holiday here. The calm setting, friendly staff, pool, and nearby turtle spot were all highlights. We especially loved the breakfast. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone.

The quiet setting and all the greenery made it easy to relax, and the beach with its clear water and soft white sand was only a short walk away. Our room was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, with everything feeling well cared for. Breakfast had fresh tropical fruit, juice, and plenty of tasty choices. The staff were kind and helpful from the minute we arrived, always greeting us with a smile. It was a dream stay, and we’d love to come back to Gili Ocean Club. ❤️🌺
