Gili Palms Resort

The breakfast staff were so polite and helpful, they couldn’t do enough for us. Our room was spacious and well located, and we enjoyed our stay at Gilli Palms Resort. But the beds squeaked every time someone moved, waking my partner, and a connecting door meant we could hear our neighbors clearly all night. A great stay if you don’t mind being woken up.

Across the road there’s a nice beach with turtles, and Jali, a good restaurant, is on the same road. The staff were friendly, and mini-bar prices were cheap and handy. Breakfast was limited and not great, so I’d go elsewhere for it. My room, number 8, had no working Wi-Fi, which is a big drawback if you need to work. There were no kettle, cups, or mosquito repellent in the room, so bring your own. The shower barely worked, which was disappointing. If you’ll be out all day and only use the hotel to sleep, it may suit you. If you want to relax there, it probably won’t.

The rooms were clean, the staff very friendly, and the Wi-Fi was good. Rooms aren’t especially large, but they’re adequate. Breakfast was simple but decent. I had a relaxing five days at Gili Palms Resort, well placed for the bars and restaurants nearby. I’d recommend it.

The staff were especially courteous and friendly, and dealt with our complaints straight away. I was a bit worried about the condition before arriving, but it looked better than the online pictures suggested. The place isn’t on the beach, though it’s quiet, and the main street and Turtle Point are easy to reach by bike. We booked fairly last minute after reading reviews once we got to Gili. Given the island’s particular setup, it’s a cost-effective choice. We’re now renting a two-story pool villa in Bali for around $60 a night, which is a real bargain, so in comparison I wouldn’t call this place ideal. Still, you get a lot for your money here in Gili. Wi-Fi wasn’t great, though my phone data wasn’t very good either. We enjoyed our three nights, and the free breakfast each morning had more menu options than expected. No major negatives, and the warm hospitality makes me happy to leave a favorable review. Thanks!
