Jati Village, Party Hostel and Bungalows

The place has a lovely pool, a well-stocked bar, and both pool and table tennis. It’s also surrounded by the cutest cats. What made my stay, though, was the staff. They were so friendly and accommodating, they felt like friends. The dorm was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the family meals made it easy to meet people.

Stayed at Jati village over New Year’s and had an amazing time. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and make for a great atmosphere. The family dinners every night were lovely and well priced. Pool and table tennis are free, and there’s a nice little swimming pool too.

The property itself didn’t match the online photos, which looked heavily edited. In person it seemed old and poorly maintained, and the rooms felt dusty, neglected and uncared for. I also found the rules unnecessary and uncomfortable, and felt they were applied only to certain guests. As a brown traveller, I felt unfairly targeted. Natalie, the manager, came across as arrogant, unkind and discriminatory, and her attitude ruined the stay. From when I arrived, the atmosphere felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I personally felt singled out and treated differently. Natalie was rude, dismissive and unprofessional, and the way she spoke and her expressions made me feel disrespected throughout my stay. This was one of the worst stays I’ve had. I left upset, unwelcome and completely disappointed. I’d strongly recommend avoiding this place and choosing somewhere that treats all guests with respect and looks like its photos.

Good location and a nice pool. The bar is well stocked, and the staff are awesome and clearly enjoy their work. There’s a party if you want to join in. I’d definitely recommend this hostel.
