The price, including breakfast, was good, and the host was friendly. It’s quite close to the port, right beside the local morning market. The room’s toilet was dirty and had no hot water, and the pool didn’t look as clear as it did in the photo.

The staff were friendly, and the location was great, close to both the beach and Gili T central. It felt worth the price, but cleanliness let us down. We stayed a few days and they didn’t clean the room or replace the towels at all. The toilet was a mess, and the pool looked dirty with no pool towels available.

There’s free WiFi for guests, though sometimes I got a faster connection using an XL prepaid card. The hostel also has a modern, informative website in many languages. Right across the road is the morning market, with fresh fish, fruit, and other food. For Indonesian dishes rather than just European food, try the main street. When you come out of the hostel alley, there’s a little street kitchen across the road. Yum! The hostel is small, clean, and close to the pier. Rooms have air conditioning and ceilings about 3.5 m high. Breakfast is included for 500000 Rp., but for now it’s usually just one slice of toast with jam and tea. We managed to get toast with eggs or an omelet. If you want more, there are plenty of restaurants nearby across different price ranges. If you’re a sophisticated critic, maybe spend all your money on a five-star hotel, or stay home in your comfy condo watching videos about Gili islands. ;)

The family room costs very little and is bigger than a standard room, with extra space to chill, so it’s still worth booking. This is a good, well-run budget place that feels relaxed. There’s a local market and shop on the road beside the property, and the tourist main walk is only two minutes away. Enjoy your stay on Gili T. blaiseyboy
