Nasional Hotel

The hotel was comfortable and nice to stay in, and the workers were delightful and happy to help with anything we needed. Also, the restaurant has the best Nasi Goreng in all of Gunungsitoli, easily. You have to try it.

Wifi was good, so we could stream something western on our own devices, since the TV only had local channels. We didn’t try breakfast. It’s two rice dishes, though reception said toast could be ordered with a day’s notice. Our ocean view was mostly blocked by a big old satellite dish. The shower pressure was very low, the bed was old and springy, and there were lots of ants. I suppose it’s better than most other hotels in town.

Staff were good, and the wifi worked well. The hotel has no food service, but there are two small restaurants next door with some local dishes. Breakfast comes in packets, with only two choices: rice, or boiled egg and another pack whose contents I didn’t know. Tea and coffee are available, but there aren’t other breakfast options. The room was clean and had hot water. Our sea-facing view wasn’t great, with palm trees and other plants in front. There are both newly built and older rooms. Nothing much to do on the beach. There’s a Massage Parler Royal Garden beside the hotel, though I didn’t try it.

The place is easy to reach, with good wi-fi that’s super fast. It’s close to taman Ya'ahowu, the traditional market, church, vihara, mosque, durian seller 😁, minimarket, and other public facilities. Laundry was cheap and clean, and there’s warm and cool water for bathing, a TV with various channels, breakfast, a meeting room, and a seashore view at the back. It’s clean, with standard facilities that were more than enough since gunung sitoli isn’t a big city. Prices are affordable: 450K for a deluxe room and 390 for a small deluxe (photos attached)...
