It’s a very compact, minimalist room, and bringing kids could be tricky. You have to climb stairs to reach the bed, so watch out for that. The room was clean and smelled nice, and the staff were very friendly. The entrance looks like a car garage. It seems the place used to be a shophouse before being turned into a homestay.

The location is handy, behind Pancoran, Pinangsia, Bank Museum, and Old Town. The wifi was fast, around 20mbps, and there were plenty of power outlets. The toilet was clean and had hot water, and the TV worked fine. The bed was soft with pillows, and the room felt a bit more spacious than a capsule, though it still had that private-capsule feel. It was quiet when I tried staying there, so I gave it a go. The price seemed worth it despite the cramped space. Just think of it as a capsule. Call or WhatsApp the receptionist before you go. They also have a boarding house there. I was assigned room 307. Some complimentary amenities were there, but no toothbrush or toothpaste, and fortunately there’s an Alfa nearby. The AC points at the wall, so the bed area gets hot. I wasn’t sure whether it would cool down at night. The plywood walls make conversations easy to hear, and the ceiling feels hot to the touch. One more thing, the shower water tasted salty. I ended up brushing my teeth with mineral water. It was really bad. Please sort that out.

The rooms are cleverly arranged despite having very little space, and the price is very affordable. If you shower, check the hot water setting first so it isn’t too hot.

The room design looks like a ship, and at first I thought it was really good. But after two days, things changed. Water leaked out from the bathroom drain, the water tasted salty, and several floorboards were broken enough to risk hurting someone. The main road is impossible for parking or even stopping a car, so getting a Grab is difficult. When we called the receptionist about the bathroom leak, she was very unfriendly. Sorry, but if you can stay somewhere else, I’d suggest doing that.
