The location worked well, with a small mall, coffee shop, restaurants, and a supermarket in the same building. On a nearby street there were also several convenience stores and places selling street food. The rooms were clean and had a nice view, and I'd stay here again. The staff were very helpful. Our first room had no window, but they moved us straight away when we asked. The new room had a smell, so they quickly gave us another one. They also helped arrange taxis. The shower water did turn a bit cold after a while, possibly because it was solar-powered, though the weather wasn't good while we were there.

The housekeeping team was helpful and cleaned everything well, but they couldn’t get rid of the cigarette smell. It lingered in my room and the corridor, and the air felt really stale. I had an enjoyable experience in some ways, but the smell was awful. If you don’t smoke, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Really bad.

The cinema XXI is clean and feels like stepping into a different place, and there’s a children’s arcade in the basement. Ace Hardware and restaurants are here too, but most of the shops were closed when I went. It’s an okay place as it is, but it’d be awesome if more shops were open. The arcade price is cheap, though it hasn’t been updated.

The building may be old, but it’s clearly well looked after, including the rooms. The staff are young and seem experienced. I’d happily recommend this hotel if you’re planning to stay in central Jakarta. Five stars from me.
