The rooms were unique and clean, the amenities and complimentary items were great, and the TV and AC worked properly. There’s also a small swimming pool where we could relax. The hotel’s location and home-like theme were good, but our experience with the staff was poor. We were a group that booked more than five rooms across two floors. One group checked in before us. When we arrived, the employees didn’t help us find our rooms or carry our belongings. We got our keys from the first group, and nobody told us where the rooms were, so we had to find them ourselves. It was a bad first impression. There was no water heater set up in the rooms for coffee or tea. If we wanted hot water, we had to ask the staff and pay extra. They also sold some food and drinks. Breakfast wasn’t included, and we had to pay to order it. We were told it started at 7 a.m. On the second day, we left our key at reception. When we came back, the room hadn’t been made up. We complained, and the staff defended themselves by saying we hadn’t asked. Everywhere else we’ve stayed, rooms were made up without needing to ask, and we found this disrespectful. Around 1 a.m., one person in our group asked reception for the room key, but the employee ignored him and kept playing games on his phone. That annoyed him and disturbed another person who was sleeping. When we checked out, none of the employees paid attention to us or said goodbye. The building, location, and cleanliness are good. They need to treat guests with more respect and respond to what guests need. Staff shouldn’t be on their phones during work hours. Hospitality takes skill and knowledge, and good business is about more than money. Better service would help this place build a good reputation.
