Alma

I stayed at Hotel Alma for two days with my wife. The air conditioning was faulty and took too long to cool the room. We had a superior plus Queen room, but the bed was so uncomfortable that we both got back pain. I wouldn't recommend it.

The air conditioning was good, but the noise insulation was terrible. Kids shouting across the hall woke me repeatedly, and even from the toilet I could hear people talking outside, footsteps in the aisle, and doors closing. The phone in my room didn't work either. Breakfast was disappointing, especially the really tough chicken. When I politely asked the young receptionist for a toothbrush, he gave me an unpleasant smirk, as if I were ridiculous, then went back to playing his phone game. I came hoping to sleep and relax, but it was a very bad stay.

I booked for my wife, our two small kids, and me because the hotel had a 4/5 rating and we expected it to be good. Within 30 minutes, my wife started getting rashes all over her body. The room was extremely dirty, with dirt everywhere and damp patches throughout. It looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for days. There were no towels, toilet paper, or shampoo. For the price, the room was decent, with a clean bathroom and AC that worked, though it took ages to cool things down. I've stayed here twice. A few things put me off coming back: the receptionists felt unfriendly, especially on the phone. When I called for a towel because there hadn't been one in my room at check-in, the person didn't apologize and hung up before we finished talking. The bath mat was so slippery I fell on it every time, which is dangerous and needs replacing. They should also check the amenities before letting guests into the room. I'd have to think twice before a third stay.
