ARTOTEL Thamrin Jakarta

From check-in to checkout, service was smooth and welcoming. My Studio room at ARTOTEL Jakarta was roomy, clean, and comfortable, and felt like a great deal for the price. Sarinah Mall and Jalan Sabang are an easy walk, with food, coffee, convenience stores, and most essentials within about 10 minutes. Kokuo Massage is less than a five-minute walk away, which worked well after a long day. Cafes are all around, Grab is easy to get anytime, and the hotel has its own restaurant and bar with live performances at night. I’d stay here again in Jakarta.

Being right in the city, close to Sarinah, shops, and plenty of restaurants, was a real advantage. The murals and contemporary artistic touches gave the hotel a lively feel unlike a typical place to stay. My room was comfortable, clean, and well equipped for either work or relaxing. I liked the thoughtful interior details, which made it feel stylish and cozy, and the staff were helpful and friendly whenever I needed something.

Saskia made a lasting impression with her warm, attentive, and professional help. She welcomed me on arrival and took care to make sure I had what I needed. The ARTOTEL itself had an unusual mix of modern and artistic design, and my room was clean, comfortable, and arranged in a relaxing way after a long day. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it for comfort and good service. I hope to come back.

We booked this place hoping to have drinks in the evening without going out, but the rooftop bar was closed for festivities. Nobody mentioned that when we reserved or checked in, and there was no sign in the elevator. We went up expecting a bar and found a dark, empty floor with no directions. The hotel calls itself an art hotel, but the few decorations didn’t create much of an artistic atmosphere. Room facilities were very limited, with nowhere to organize our luggage, and the furniture looked artsy but wasn’t comfortable to use. Staff were polite, though they seemed short on hospitality training. Breakfast was another frustrating experience. After we found a table, staff moved us to a smoking area without explaining why, following a 20-minute wait to be seated. When we asked, they said we could take our food into the smoking room, which was unpleasant since we don’t smoke. The first table we asked for and all the others were already occupied. Staff communication with each other and guests was poor, and limited English made things harder. I can’t recommend this hotel and suggest looking elsewhere.
