Belvena Hotel

I stayed there near the end of November 2024, and the room was really dirty. The toilet smelled and had mold on the wall. It looked nothing like the pictures I’d seen online.

The staff were friendly and the service was good, even though they couldn’t speak English. It’s also an easy walk to convenience stores, wartegs (Indonesian street food), and fast food places. I’ve stayed at a better Zen Rooms for about the same price, though, so I gave this place three stars. Still, my stay here was pleasant, and it’s decent for a night’s sleep.

I booked the “Suite Double Room” at the last minute for one night, from 21-22 Apr 2019. It was easy to reach from Mangga Besar Station, and check-in went smoothly, though they required an IDR50000 deposit. This review is only about that room type, so I can’t speak for the others. The room was spacious, with a chair, desk, wardrobe, TV, AC, private shower, and bathtub, which were standard suite facilities. But there was no hanger, and I found hairs on both the floor and desk. Towels were missing when I arrived. More than half the TV channels didn’t work, and I couldn’t find any Wi-Fi, though maybe I just didn’t know the password. The bathroom was roomy, but the toilet seat was awkwardly positioned. It smelled even with the exhaust fan running, and the odor took the whole night to go away. The area beside the toilet and the bathtub both needed scrubbing. The walls, ceiling, window, and door could use better maintenance, and the lighting was a bit dim with no way to make it brighter. For a “Suite Double Room,” there’s a lot that needs improvement. At the same price, you can find better accommodation around here.
