The bed, shower, and location are still good points: the bed was clean, the shower decent, and it’s handy for getting around and finding food. But I won’t stay here again. The homestay has gotten much dirtier since the pandemic, and mosquitoes swarm around the place. I used to stay here a few times before the pandemic, and quite a bit has changed since then. The sheets, pillows, duvet, and bathroom were clean, but the closet, drawers, and parts of the table were dusty, and there was a little mold on the shower wall. There were so many mosquitoes that they’d get into the room whenever we went in and out, and I had lots of bites every night. They used to leave a tray, two empty glasses, and lids. Now there’s just one glass turned upside down on a piece of tissue, which feels very unhygienic. The bathroom ventilator was also so noisy at night that I couldn’t sleep properly.

The room has a nice feel to it, and the place is easy to spot right on the main road. It’s an affordable option close to Jakarta’s Business District. I’d give it 5/5 for location, price, facilities, and cleanliness.

For basic needs, IDR 200k a night is a very good price. You get a single bed, TV, hot-water shower, cabinet, and a working desk, with daily or long-term stays available. Bendungan Hilir 77 Residence is in the Bendungan Hilir area of Jakpus, and plenty of places are walkable, including Plaza Semanggi, benhil market, City Walk, nearby street food, ATMs, and minimarkets. It would be a good spot for a short stay.

The rooms made for a depressing nightmare. Most of them have no windows, except for one or two. They often mix up the laundry and don’t even apologize, and toilet paper isn’t included if you rent for a full month. When something goes wrong, the staff seem incredibly lazy and make no effort to help.

The booking process needs work. I’d reserved two months ahead, but my name wasn’t on the list when I arrived. The staff were friendly and the owner was helpful, though. It’s easy to find, cozy, and pretty comfortable, with TV and Wi-Fi.
