Think carefully before booking here. I waited more than two hours to check in, and the service was awful. The staff didn’t apologize. The deposit was also high: 250k IDR in cash, or an extra 10k IDR charge if paying by credit or debit card. The lobby had no air conditioning, even though this is an old hotel. I saw many other people complaining about the service too. I regret not checking the honest reviews on Google first. I’m never coming back and wouldn’t recommend staying here.

My stay was a bad experience, and I think the staff and management should learn from it. I booked through Agoda with breakfast, but after check-in the staff said breakfast wasn’t provided, and I couldn’t get a refund for it. On the first day, the TV remote didn’t work, so even though I was tired, I had to go down to the lobby to get another one. The curtains and sheets had lots of yellow spots, and I don’t think they’d been cleaned. I stayed two days, but on the second day nobody cleaned my room or changed the sheets or towel. When I returned, my room card wouldn’t open the door, so I had to go back to the lobby to reactivate it. At 11 PM, the electricity went out in my room alone, leaving it dark and hot in Jakarta without the AC. Staff said they’d check, but nobody did, and they stayed silent until I checked out. One staff member was professional and well mannered. He wore glasses and a black and white uniform, and offered to carry my bag. Thank you to him.

Check-in took a long time, and the lobby had lots of mosquitoes and fleas. By the next day, I had rashes all over my body. The bedsheet was dirty and the towel looked like a rag. Even at a low price, this place isn’t worth a possible flea infestation.

The renovation noise on the third floor went on until around 10:00 p.m., with machines and tools making it hard to rest. I asked reception to stop the work, but was told that was when the project would finish. Room 303 was clean, but the noise made it a poor place to sleep. Getting to that room was a struggle too. The first room on the second floor smelled awful, and room #302 was still being cleaned after the previous guests had checked out. Its bed cover hadn't been changed and rubbish was still there, yet reception handed it over unprepared. The receptionist and manager were unhelpful and didn't smile. The bathroom towel was so worn it was more like a floor rag. Even parking was a problem: security kept asking me for a parking fee, which guests shouldn't have to pay. A really bad stay.
